Hugh Barnet
Hugh has had extensive agricultural experience in the beef cattle industry having managed large pastoral properties in the Northern Territory, Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. His expertise covers not only beef breeding and marketing cattle within the domestic market and the live export trade, but also stud and commercial herd management. Hugh has worked as an advisor for Resource Consulting Services (RCS) and also as a consultant on regenerative agriculture and the grassfed beef supply chain. For 15 years Hugh had his own property in Queensland with stud and commercial beef cattle, as well as horse breeding and training and managed planned grazing on intensive perennial pastures. Hugh is an accomplished horseman and has varied experience working with horses in the thoroughbred industry, as well as training horses and camels for films. He worked as the cattle supervisor on the film “Australia”. Hugh has travelled extensively on study tours to Asia, South America and the USA with a focus on all aspects of the beef supply chain, including breeding, feedlots and processing facilities, along with horse training and general farming.
