If you’ve ever wanted to understand the sheer size of Australia, come to Western Australia and experience farming life in this remote region. WA is our largest state and the country’s leading grain producing region and a major supplier of meat and livestock, but its geographic diversity also allows for year-round fruit and vegetable production, including world-class avocados. Commence in Perth, the world’s most remote capital city, and spend two nights in the bustling colourful port of Fremantle. Venture north through mixed farming country of broad acre cropping and sheep and spend time on the coast to learn about the rock lobster industry. Next, loop south to the historic whaling port of Albany in the southwest. This is a fascinating region of tall hardwood Marri and Karri forests near Pemberton, as well as pristine beaches and world class vineyards around Margaret River. With such diversity of food and wine, farming and agriculture, not to mention scenery, this tour will be hard to resist.
