Bill Burton
Bill has a lifelong passion for agriculture instilled from an early age growing up on a family cattle property on the northern Darling Downs in Qld.
Bill has worked across all aspects of the beef industry supply chain. A 25-year career as a Livestock agent/Auctioneer followed by 6 years in cattle buying roles for NH Foods and then Mort & Co lead to extensive travel throughout Australia’s eastern states.
Together with his wife, Kylie, Bill developed their own grazing interests before purchasing Saltern Creek near Barcaldine in 2010. Over 16 years, they transformed the property into a diversified enterprise producing cattle, meat sheep and goats through investment in infrastructure, land management and exclusion fencing.
Now based on the Gold Coast, Bill is seeking his next cattle property in the Northern Rivers of NSW. He enjoys travelling with an agricultural lens, meeting producers, exploring farming systems and discovering the people and communities behind rural industries.
