TWiA members are invited to travel on this unforgettable expedition through Victoria and southern New South Wales, the heartland of Australian agriculture. See first-hand the ingenuity and innovation of our producers from dairy, sheep and cattle, to emus, cropping and cotton. Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Mildura Field Days with its proud tradition of celebrating the produce and people of the surrounding district. From agriculture, water, transport, machinery and resources, through to local foods and wines. Commencing in Melbourne, travel north to Echuca on the mighty Murray via a major dairy in the productive Goulburn Valley. Head northwest via the horticultural region surrounding Mildura to the wool producing region around Hay, then east to Leeton to see irrigated and dryland crops, as well as a cotton ginning plant and cattle feedlot. Next, head to Canberra and inspect a well-established emu operation en route. Finally, spend two nights taking in the sights of Canberra and meeting with representatives of the National Farmers’ Federation.
